What would you have added if you could mod the game.
In case your wondering, no. I'm not directly asking for the source code of the game. It's just that the forums have been silent for quite some time and i'm beginning to wonder how long it will last. As a result I seem to wonder what kind of idea's could be implanted into a mod if the game was moddible.
I've been thinking about this list for a long time, since it symbolizes my vision for what the "next vision" could have been if Bombergames kept doing upgrades.
1.Add online play.
2.Add drugs that temporarily increase speed, damage resistance, combo speed, or the damage that you do.
3.Make the ammo in the guns vary. For example 9mm handgun that is loaded with one of the following ammo types:regular 9mm bullets, armor piercing rounds
that shoot through enemies, or flame round which set enemies on fire and cause them to run around and die(kinda like the FPS game Blood. Funny name. Isn't it).
4.Some enemies can strike you while your down like in Vendetta, but instead of kicking them you roll to avoid getting hit.
5.Add a bowie knife and a chain weapon as seen on the Streets of Rage 2 cover. The bowie knife will be used by Galsa and the truckers. The chain will be used by Galsa and Slum. The chain weapon comes in two forms. A regular chain and a fightingchain(which is a chain with a handle at each end). The fighting chain has less range than the regular chain, but does more damage. Chains use a combo.
6.Instead of making the original enemies use guns I decided to add hitmen enemies to the game instead which will replace the handgun business men in some parts of the game and appear in other areas aswell. They also drop their guns when killed which you can use. Don't worry as the first level alone has several of them and sometimes they attack in groups which keeps you from using all the ammo in their guns. Hitmen come in 5 froms.
9mm handgunners:They use either a 9mm handguns. The shots
they fire do little damage, but they instantly hit(9mm ammo travels fast even though it isn't that strong).
9mm gunmen either wear a hockey mask and a vast(like what Criss made) or wears cargo pants, a Hawaiian shirt, and a backpack and covers his face with a gas mask.
Submachine gunners:They use a submachine gun and are like the 9mm hand gunners except they can shoot sideways. They wear a t-shirt with a tactical vest(not a bullet proof vest) and cover their face with a bandanna that doesn't cover their mouth, square shaped sunglasses, and wear a backwards baseball cap with a bandanna underneath or a vest with a shirt underneath and cover their face with 2 bandannas(they kinda resemble the guy on the SOR1 box cover that Axel kicks).
45 cal. handgunners:45 cal. handgunners use 45 cal. handguns. Unlike the 9mm gunmen the shots they fire are dodgable bullets, but they do alot of damage and knock you down. 45 cal. handgunners wear sleveless trenchcoats with and short sleeved shirt underneath and cover their faces with a
leg stocking or an animal mask which varies(some crime movies have robbers wear animal masks). Both 9mm and 45.cal handgunners can't be grappled to add more variety(yeah. I know that it rips off the Combatribes, but it adds more variety).
Shotgun guys:They wear trechcoats and cover their face with a bandanna and a gas mask(their gas mask only covers their mouth). Another graphical form they have is a leather jacket with a black sweater underneath and cover their face with a ski mask that doesn't cover the hair on their head and sunglasses(this form is a reference to the hitman that killed Tony Montana at the end of the movie Scarface).
They fire their shotguns by bringing it up to their face. In addition to using a semi-auto shotgun they can throw a frag grenade at when knocked down(takes time to explode) and they have a bayonet at the end of their shotgun which they use for grapple move which they stab you with the bayonet, throw you with it, and shoot you while your in the air. When knocked down they shoot backward. Note:One varation to the shotgunner would be that he sometimes uses a shield. When he does attacking him in front causes no damage, but completing a combo knocks them down. If they get back up there's a delay before they can react allowing you to grapple them or attack them from behind.
Assault rifleman:Assault rifleman come in 2 forms. The first wears an Muslim terrorist camo uniform(beat'em ups always have alot of sterotypes) and covers his face with a turban and a bandanna or they might wear a hooded sports jacket(with the hood up and cover their face with a potato shack. The second appers only at stage 9(more on that later) and is a Russain hitman(more on that later. The assault rilfes that the Russain guys use have grenade launchers. What separates Assault rifleman from other hitman is their lock on ability where they will aim at where the player is standing. To avoid this attack the player must maneuver around the Assault rifle man to attack him. Although the bullets they fire don't instantly hit they travel very fast and do more damage. Assault rifle men can shoot you(or enemies if you using an assault rifle) while your on the ground at a distance.
In addition to dropping their weapons when killed hitmen also sometimes drop melee weapons(one note about the assault rifles is that they fire slower than sub machine guns). When you encounter hitmen in areas and buildings that belong to Mr.X(aside from the Russain hitmen) they won't cover their face.
Hitmen also ride appear in the motorcycle and jetski stages where they ride motorcycles(which are graphicily different from what the bikers motorcycles look like), quads, and jetski's. When fighting hitmen in groups hitmen normally try to only shoot you in the front and perform a melee attack when hitting you in the back. Note:like hitmen firearms that you can use arn't as common as other weapons. There only there to add varity(guns add varity. Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, the Punisher, and Aliens verus Predator had a lot of guns).
7.Here a new final boss i've thought of. His name is X(Not Mr.X. His name is just "X"). He appears throughout the game giving you information and evidence about Mr.X's arms dealing. However if you take the right path after you fight Mr.X he gets shot by X along with two Russian hitman. X then reveals that he is Mr.X's father and that he wants Mr.X dead for 2 reasons. 1.Mr.X removed X(his father) from the sydicate because shortly after giving Mr.X job of own the crime syndicate he was pushed aside with the Russian mob, but Mr.X refused because of the disagreements he has with what the Russian mob does such as having morals that they must follow. Then stage nine begins. Unlike all of the other levels Mr.X's men are on your side. Your enemies in this level are Russian hitmen who are armed with firearms. At the
end of the level you face off against X. X's attacks mainly consist of various firearms which he switches as his heath drains. Although he does have some close range attacks such as throwing you to the ground and shooting you aswell as lifting you up and squeezing your skull crushing it. The first gun he uses is a silenced machine pistol, then a short barreled rifle, then a revolving grenade launcher, and finally a small minigun. After beating him he tries to jump out the window to commit suicide, but Zan grabs him after hitting the glass. The heroes pull X up. The ending has X arrested and sentenced to death in the gas
chamber. Axel plays him a visit to give a farewell(despite X's intentions). Mr.X on the other hand was at first sentenced to death, but his charges were dropped in exchange for working for ATF. Note:X is the guy in the trenchcoat holding a briefcase in the SOR3 credits(some of the SOR3 endings have art work). And incase your wondering, yes I know that that guy in the trench coat at the end of SOR3 is Zan, but I mistook him for someone else.
8.Here's two new melee enemy's i've thought of. They are supposed to be a reference to the Punks gang from the Warriors movie(the Punks gang wear overalls) since alot of beat'em ups have movie references. The first one uses stiletto switchblades and have 2 attacks. One is a slash combo and the other is a forward slash(similar to the ninja's from SOR2). He usually tries to attack you from the back. Also as a reference to the arcade game Crime Fighters he could juggle it when he first appears, but when he gets close enough to you he opens up the switchblade and permanently enters his fighting stance. They drop a stiletto switchblade when killed(which is the same as the switchblades that the Rsignals sometime use). They can also stab diagonally. The second version rides on roller skates except instead of moving side to side on the screen like the Combatribes they normally attempt hit you underneath. The best way to hit them is to avoid their attack, wait till they go to the edge of the screen, and jump kick them. Their weakness is that when they are knocked down there is a delay before they can start moving again(yes. I know that was taken from Vendetta, but I have to give him a disadvantage) allowing you to punch them, but enemies won't let you do so if possible. The roller skate enemies use pipes, wood planks, machetes, chains,
and baseball bats.
9.Maybe the new Cody enemies could use Blast knuckles to make them feel different from the other enemies. Note:Blast knuckles are a mix of brass knuckles and a stungun.
10.Add spider mines that crawl in a pattern across the screen and explode if you or an enemy touch them. It also might be cool to add laser trip mines that are set to the environment and sometimes to breakable items that contain powerups. The best way to clear trip mines is to grapple an enemy into them.
11.Add a regular pocket knife which is exactly like the regular knife except it comes in a few colors such as black, gray, blue, red, camo, and brown.
12.Add 3 baton weapons. An electro shock baton, a fixed baton and a telescoping baton. These are used by Vice and the fatguys at times. The fatguys can set the batons on fire by pouring beer over it and breathing fire which causes them to do more damage, but if they get knocked down they set themselves on fire by mistake.
13.I've thought of a new weapon. An axe. It does more damage than most weapons and can be used on enemies while they are on the ground, but if you miss an enemy it sometimes gets stuck in the ground(depending where it hits) and takes a few seconds to get out in some environments. Max ends up being an exception to this. It is sometimes used by the big bens. It comes it two forms. A fire axe and pick axe. The pick axe does more damage, but if you miss it takes a bit longer to get out.
14.I thought if using the cover art for the Streets of Rage soundtrack as the games title screen as a reference.
15.I thought of a new health pickup. It's a medkit which is similar to the turkey, but it can be used twice. I amount of health you get the second time you use it depends of how much heath you restore during the first use.
16.The 45.cal hand gun pops open enemies heads.
17.Russell Crowe as a playable character because it would be retardedly stupid and funny(I think). Playing as Russell Crow changes the first cutscene to a parody of the South Park episode "the new Terrance and Philip". Where Galsa says "Hey. Is that Russell Crow"? Then Russell Crow gets pissed and runs them over with his pal boat Tugger. In addition to changing the story and the main character Russell Crowe mode has a few new enemies such as the popcap worm(first appers in level . They are genetically engineered worms that sink there bodies into themselves and pop right into the air. Sometimes enemies that try to fight them will eventually run away like in River City Ransom. As for the bosses most of them are replaced characters from various movies. Shiva for example is replaced by Commodus from the movie Gladiator. Barbon is replaced by Frank Lucas from American Gangster. Also includes Eric Harris and Danlyn Klybold(Danlyn is two headed and has Dylan Klybold and Dylan from Advance Guardain Heroes) and best of all Mr.X is replaced by naked Osama Bin Laden who has an AK47 where his crotch should be. The some of the original enemies also die in new ways. Electra explodes and has Sonic comes out of her when killed(Got the idea from HIMANSHUNATOR. Shame for Bombergames being mean to him. Had some good ideas imo).
Galsa pisses in the air and into his mouth, Donovan craps himself, Vice dies while standing up and a rocket fly's out of his head, Slum turns into a painting of King Richard, a tree grows out of the ninja's belly, and the Signals barf. When killed of course. Also Tony Motana, Vanellia Ice, and Ice Cube replace some of the SOR3 handgunner sprites.
18.Both Donovan and Slum would be able to use a machete as a weapon. When armed with a machete, they have a dodge attack where they duck to the side and slash at the player. This attack can only be done when the player does a running punch.
19.The Sega Master System version of SOR1 had an exclusive boss called The "Penguin". Might be nice from him to be in the next version. I've thought of 2 new attacks he could have. The first is if you throw him he will shoot you with a 45 cal. handgunner while in the air(the shoots he fires are dodgible). The second is where he sets landmines on the ground which he eventually detonates them by shooting them with a handgun.

21.Make some weapons that can be used with grapple throws. Examples:Shooting enemies with 9mm guns or shotguns in the air after throwing them behind you. Tossing an enemy upward and hitting them with a bat, machete, or sword.
22.I've thought of a new scenario of the game where this guy with an sniper rifle appears on a helicopter or
building(depending on which path you take) shoots you. This isn't like Brawl Brothers or Burning Fight(Arcade and where some guy shoots a randomly or across the screen. This time a crosshair appears and the further you are from it the faster it will move toward you. The guy reloads after 5 shots. Note:I got this idea from the SOR1 boxart. The backgound on the upper left of the cover shows a guy shooting a assault rifle.
23.Weapons appear more commonly, but break after several uses like in the Punisher to add more varity. For those that prefer more faithful gameplay to the original this option can be removed like the guns.
24.Here's a new enemy that I thought of. He wears a hooded jacket(with the hood upwhich covers most of his face) and camo jeans. His weapon is can of graffiti(I got the inspiration of this guy from Painkiller:Overdose. A first person shooter expansion pack). His can of graffiti blinds you.
There are 4 attacks he has.
1.Close spary:Does little damage and only works if they are facing you, but it blinds you. When blind the right and left controls work in reverse and you can't punch or jump. You can still grapple and use swinging weapons though.
2:Forward spary:Like the fatguys flame attack, but with a Graffiti can and does little damage(this is their more preferred attack).
3.Switchblade stab:pulls out a switchblade lighter and stabs you when your blind. 4.Graffiti granade:Lights a fuse on his graffiti can with his switchblade lighter and tosses it in which it explodes(and it leaves a paint color on the ground depending on which color he is).
Drops a OTF switchblade when killed. Note:It's best to fight these guys by grappling them since they can spary you before you get close enough to hit them. Also if you get blind a timer appear to show you how long your blind. If you get blinded by them other enemies won't attack as quickly to make things a bit more fair.
25.He's 3 of the Russian hitman that you encounter in the last level(i've only thought of 3 so far).
Assault rifle gunner:Like the assault rilfemen that Mr.X has except they have an attached granade
launcher.
Revolving missile launcher:Uses a missile launcher from a distance(like in Batman Returns the game) and a handgun in close range as a sidearm.
Ninja:Uses a blow dartgun that shoots tranquilizer darts. Should you get hit by one you heath will drain as you stand still(the darts alone can't kill you). Also has a sword attack and leap attack where he leaps across the screen, but drops and gas grenade as he leap over you(the gas drops you heath as long as
your in it).
Russian assault riflemen:Like the assault rifle men that Mr.X has except has a grenade launcher. Nuff said.
In addition to the Russian hitmen several of Mr.X's gangs have betrayed Mr.X. Examples being the Signals and the Punks(one of the new enemies i've thought of).

Some of the weapons(like the regular pocket knife I mentioned earlier) come in multiple colors like the enemies in the game. The reason whey picked the guns to have more graphical variety is because I thought it would be odd for the hitmen to use the same gun. Keep in mind that to tell which type of gun is which by the character design that uses it. Also weapons that use combos require that each press of the attack button is done in a timed manner to successfully pull off a combo. A button will appear showing when during the combo to press the attack button. As for firearms the amount of ammo you find in a gun when you pick one up depends on what graphical variation of the firearm type you pick up. For example:A 45 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver hold 6 bullets and a 45 caliber Glock will hold 10 bullets.
27.Maybe enemies could have two pain sprites when getting punched in the front like in Final Fight which might add more feeling to the way enemies die.
28.Here's a new explosive weapon i've thought of. A grenade bag. It's a bag of grenades that you throw and when it lands a bunch of grenades pop out.
29.Some weapons(the shotguns and handguns to keep you from relaying too much on firearms) could disappear after a certain amount of time like in Vendetta. You'll know if a weapon will disappear after some time because a timer will appear.
30.The beta version of Streets of Rage 1 had some enemies that didn't make the final version. Might be nice to see them again.

31.Maybe the punching and grappling(when enemies hit the ground) sounds could be adjustable to the players liking. For example:Changing the SOR1, 2, or 3 punch sound to Final Fight 2(I liked the punching sound in Final Fight 2) or the sound made when enemies are thrown to the ground from the SNES game Batman Returns(I loved the sound in that game).
32.Maybe Jack from SOR2 could hand knives to the Galsa's when there available.
33.Instead of putting a save system maybe the game could have multiple chapters. The first takes place in Portland, Oregon. I thought it would be best to start there since that game mentions the city being peaceful(Oregon has a low crime rate). Eventually you'll find your self in cities like Huston-Texas, Detroit-Michigan, Cleveland-Ohio, New Orleans-Louisiana, and finally the District of Columbia. I avoided cities like New York and California since they are used too much in crime movies.
34.If Ash ends up being a playable character I thought of a new move he could have. It allows him to rape enemies on the ground(men only) for a little more heath. The trade off is that the move is slow which would leave you a sitting duck toward enemies and to balance things out Ash would gain half as much health from most health pick ups. Yeah. It's stupid, but I thought it's innovative.
35.Maybe there could be an underwater level where your in 10 feet water and have to keep an oxygen meter up. You do this by getting to areas of the screen that are high enough to jump to the surface.
36.A new weapon could be a chainsaw. Whenever you hit an enemy with it the chainsaw strike the enemy latching on to it draining his or her health until you let go of the attack button or he or she dies. When you let go of the attack button the enemy is knocked down. The Big Bens and bikers sometimes will use this. When they do the only way to knock it out of their hand is to use either a special attack or hit them from
behind which can easily be after they do a charge attack(the charge attack they do with the chainsaw only allows them to move forward).
37:A new weapon:A molotov. Note that if you throw a molotov at an enemy he or she will be knocked to the ground and roll up, down, or in a circle trying to put it out. If that enemy trying to put the fire out collides with another enemy that enemy will take damage and trip.
38.The ability to strangle SOR 2 and 3 Electra, BK 3 Electra, and Nora with their own whips. You can also do this with their whips on other enemies if your using one.
39.Two new weapons could be a shoe blade and some ice cleats. When equipped, the player will preform his or her own kicking combo. The shoe blade and the ice cleats could be used by Soozie and Garnet.
40.I thought of a new boss. He's basically a high level hitman named Bourne(reference to the Bourne Identity movies). He wears a sleeveless vest and a fedora hat and has a mustache. He attacks using a variety of gadgets and gizmos. His first attack is a grappling hook which he can use diagonally. He uses this when your distracted with other enemies. In close range he can stun the player with choking powder. He also has a punch combo is his a aided by a push knife(basically a brass knuckle with a blade attached to it) on his left hand and a Sedgley OSS .38 punch gun on his right hand which he uses to finish the combo. Although he can be grappled and thrown, punching him while grappled causes him to turn the player around
and choking the player using a garrote wire.
41.A new series of weapon types could consit of moveable weapons which can be used while moving. The consist of the Sai, Nunchaku, two Kama's, and two butterfly swords. The Sai's and Nunchaku's are used by Haku-Oh, while the Kama's and butterfly swords are used by Tiger and Hakuyo.
42:Some shotguns will come with an attached bayonet which the player can press the jump button to stab an enemy and fire the gun while he's stabbed causing triple damage.
43.Firearms can be fired while moving which will make hitting enemies much easier(I sometimes have trouble hitting enemies with firearms).
44.Add a double barrel shotgun which fires two separate shots, but can be reloaded 3 times and while moving.

When he does attacking him in front causes no damage, but completing a combo knocks them down. If they get back up there's a delay before they can react allowing you to grapple them or attack them from behind.
Assault rifleman:Assault rifleman come in 2 forms. The first wears an Muslim terrorist camo uniform(beat'em ups always have alot of sterotypes) and covers his face with a turban and a bandanna or they might wear a hooded sports jacket(with the hood up and cover their face with a potato shack. The second appers only at stage 9(more on that later) and is a Russain hitman(more on that later. The assault rilfes that the Russain guys use have grenade launchers. What separates Assault rifleman from other hitman is their lock on ability where they will aim at where the player is standing. To avoid this attack the player must maneuver around the Assault rifle man to attack him. Although the bullets they fire don't instantly hit they travel very fast and do more damage. Assault rifle men can shoot you(or enemies if you using an assault rifle) while your on the ground at a distance.
In addition to dropping their weapons when killed hitmen also sometimes drop melee weapons(one note about the assault rifles is that they fire slower than sub machine guns). When you encounter hitmen in areas and buildings that belong to Mr.X(aside from the Russain hitmen) they won't cover their face.
Hitmen also ride appear in the motorcycle and jetski stages where they ride motorcycles(which are graphicily different from what the bikers motorcycles look like), quads, and jetski's. When fighting hitmen in groups hitmen normally try to only shoot you in the front and perform a melee attack when hitting you in the back. Note:like hitmen firearms that you can use arn't as common as other weapons. There only there to add varity(guns add varity. Cadillacs & Dinosaurs, the Punisher, and Aliens verus Predator had a lot of guns).
7.Here a new final boss i've thought of. His name is X(Not Mr.X. His name is just "X"). He appears throughout the game giving you information and evidence about Mr.X's arms dealing. However if you take the right path after you fight Mr.X he gets shot by X along with two Russian hitman. X then reveals that he is Mr.X's father and that he wants Mr.X dead for 2 reasons. 1.Mr.X removed X(his father) from the sydicate because shortly after giving Mr.X job of own the crime syndicate he was pushed aside with the Russian mob, but Mr.X refused because of the disagreements he has with what the Russian mob does such as having morals that they must follow. Then stage nine begins. Unlike all of the other levels Mr.X's men are on your side. Your enemies in this level are Russian hitmen who are armed with firearms. At the
end of the level you face off against X. X's attacks mainly consist of various firearms which he switches as his heath drains. Although he does have some close range attacks such as throwing you to the ground and shooting you aswell as lifting you up and squeezing your skull crushing it. The first gun he uses is a silenced machine pistol, then a short barreled rifle, then a revolving grenade launcher, and finally a small minigun. After beating him he tries to jump out the window to commit suicide, but Zan grabs him after hitting the glass. The heroes pull X up. The ending has X arrested and sentenced to death in the gas
chamber. Axel plays him a visit to give a farewell(despite X's intentions). Mr.X on the other hand was at first sentenced to death, but his charges were dropped in exchange for working for ATF. Note:X is the guy in the trenchcoat holding a briefcase in the SOR3 credits(some of the SOR3 endings have art work). And incase your wondering, yes I know that that guy in the trench coat at the end of SOR3 is Zan, but I mistook him for someone else.
8.Here's two new melee enemy's i've thought of. They are supposed to be a reference to the Punks gang from the Warriors movie(the Punks gang wear overalls) since alot of beat'em ups have movie references. The first one uses stiletto switchblades and have 2 attacks. One is a slash combo and the other is a forward slash(similar to the ninja's from SOR2). He usually tries to attack you from the back. Also as a reference to the arcade game Crime Fighters he could juggle it when he first appears, but when he gets close enough to you he opens up the switchblade and permanently enters his fighting stance. They drop a stiletto switchblade when killed(which is the same as the switchblades that the Rsignals sometime use). They can also stab diagonally. The second version rides on roller skates except instead of moving side to side on the screen like the Combatribes they normally attempt hit you underneath. The best way to hit them is to avoid their attack, wait till they go to the edge of the screen, and jump kick them. Their weakness is that when they are knocked down there is a delay before they can start moving again(yes. I know that was taken from Vendetta, but I have to give him a disadvantage) allowing you to punch them, but enemies won't let you do so if possible. The roller skate enemies use pipes, wood planks, machetes, chains,
and baseball bats.
9.Maybe the new Cody enemies could use Blast knuckles to make them feel different from the other enemies. Note:Blast knuckles are a mix of brass knuckles and a stungun.
10.Add spider mines that crawl in a pattern across the screen and explode if you or an enemy touch them. It also might be cool to add laser trip mines that are set to the environment and sometimes to breakable items that contain powerups. The best way to clear trip mines is to grapple an enemy into them.
11.Add a regular pocket knife which is exactly like the regular knife except it comes in a few colors such as black, gray, blue, red, camo, and brown.
12.Add 3 baton weapons. An electro shock baton, a fixed baton and a telescoping baton. These are used by Vice and the fatguys at times. The fatguys can set the batons on fire by pouring beer over it and breathing fire which causes them to do more damage, but if they get knocked down they set themselves on fire by mistake.
13.I've thought of a new weapon. An axe. It does more damage than most weapons and can be used on enemies while they are on the ground, but if you miss an enemy it sometimes gets stuck in the ground(depending where it hits) and takes a few seconds to get out in some environments. Max ends up being an exception to this. It is sometimes used by the big bens. It comes it two forms. A fire axe and pick axe. The pick axe does more damage, but if you miss it takes a bit longer to get out.
14.I thought if using the cover art for the Streets of Rage soundtrack as the games title screen as a reference.
15.I thought of a new health pickup. It's a medkit which is similar to the turkey, but it can be used twice. I amount of health you get the second time you use it depends of how much heath you restore during the first use.
16.The 45.cal hand gun pops open enemies heads.
17.Russell Crowe as a playable character because it would be retardedly stupid and funny(I think). Playing as Russell Crow changes the first cutscene to a parody of the South Park episode "the new Terrance and Philip". Where Galsa says "Hey. Is that Russell Crow"? Then Russell Crow gets pissed and runs them over with his pal boat Tugger. In addition to changing the story and the main character Russell Crowe mode has a few new enemies such as the popcap worm(first appers in level . They are genetically engineered worms that sink there bodies into themselves and pop right into the air. Sometimes enemies that try to fight them will eventually run away like in River City Ransom. As for the bosses most of them are replaced characters from various movies. Shiva for example is replaced by Commodus from the movie Gladiator. Barbon is replaced by Frank Lucas from American Gangster. Also includes Eric Harris and Danlyn Klybold(Danlyn is two headed and has Dylan Klybold and Dylan from Advance Guardain Heroes) and best of all Mr.X is replaced by naked Osama Bin Laden who has an AK47 where his crotch should be. The some of the original enemies also die in new ways. Electra explodes and has Sonic comes out of her when killed(Got the idea from HIMANSHUNATOR. Shame for Bombergames being mean to him. Had some good ideas imo).
Galsa pisses in the air and into his mouth, Donovan craps himself, Vice dies while standing up and a rocket fly's out of his head, Slum turns into a painting of King Richard, a tree grows out of the ninja's belly, and the Signals barf. When killed of course. Also Tony Motana, Vanellia Ice, and Ice Cube replace some of the SOR3 handgunner sprites.
18.Both Donovan and Slum would be able to use a machete as a weapon. When armed with a machete, they have a dodge attack where they duck to the side and slash at the player. This attack can only be done when the player does a running punch.
19.The Sega Master System version of SOR1 had an exclusive boss called The "Penguin". Might be nice from him to be in the next version. I've thought of 2 new attacks he could have. The first is if you throw him he will shoot you with a 45 cal. handgunner while in the air(the shoots he fires are dodgible). The second is where he sets landmines on the ground which he eventually detonates them by shooting them with a handgun.

21.Make some weapons that can be used with grapple throws. Examples:Shooting enemies with 9mm guns or shotguns in the air after throwing them behind you. Tossing an enemy upward and hitting them with a bat, machete, or sword.
22.I've thought of a new scenario of the game where this guy with an sniper rifle appears on a helicopter or
building(depending on which path you take) shoots you. This isn't like Brawl Brothers or Burning Fight(Arcade and where some guy shoots a randomly or across the screen. This time a crosshair appears and the further you are from it the faster it will move toward you. The guy reloads after 5 shots. Note:I got this idea from the SOR1 boxart. The backgound on the upper left of the cover shows a guy shooting a assault rifle.
23.Weapons appear more commonly, but break after several uses like in the Punisher to add more varity. For those that prefer more faithful gameplay to the original this option can be removed like the guns.
24.Here's a new enemy that I thought of. He wears a hooded jacket(with the hood upwhich covers most of his face) and camo jeans. His weapon is can of graffiti(I got the inspiration of this guy from Painkiller:Overdose. A first person shooter expansion pack). His can of graffiti blinds you.
There are 4 attacks he has.
1.Close spary:Does little damage and only works if they are facing you, but it blinds you. When blind the right and left controls work in reverse and you can't punch or jump. You can still grapple and use swinging weapons though.
2:Forward spary:Like the fatguys flame attack, but with a Graffiti can and does little damage(this is their more preferred attack).
3.Switchblade stab:pulls out a switchblade lighter and stabs you when your blind. 4.Graffiti granade:Lights a fuse on his graffiti can with his switchblade lighter and tosses it in which it explodes(and it leaves a paint color on the ground depending on which color he is).
Drops a OTF switchblade when killed. Note:It's best to fight these guys by grappling them since they can spary you before you get close enough to hit them. Also if you get blind a timer appear to show you how long your blind. If you get blinded by them other enemies won't attack as quickly to make things a bit more fair.
25.He's 3 of the Russian hitman that you encounter in the last level(i've only thought of 3 so far).
Assault rifle gunner:Like the assault rilfemen that Mr.X has except they have an attached granade
launcher.
Revolving missile launcher:Uses a missile launcher from a distance(like in Batman Returns the game) and a handgun in close range as a sidearm.
Ninja:Uses a blow dartgun that shoots tranquilizer darts. Should you get hit by one you heath will drain as you stand still(the darts alone can't kill you). Also has a sword attack and leap attack where he leaps across the screen, but drops and gas grenade as he leap over you(the gas drops you heath as long as
your in it).
Russian assault riflemen:Like the assault rifle men that Mr.X has except has a grenade launcher. Nuff said.
In addition to the Russian hitmen several of Mr.X's gangs have betrayed Mr.X. Examples being the Signals and the Punks(one of the new enemies i've thought of).

Some of the weapons(like the regular pocket knife I mentioned earlier) come in multiple colors like the enemies in the game. The reason whey picked the guns to have more graphical variety is because I thought it would be odd for the hitmen to use the same gun. Keep in mind that to tell which type of gun is which by the character design that uses it. Also weapons that use combos require that each press of the attack button is done in a timed manner to successfully pull off a combo. A button will appear showing when during the combo to press the attack button. As for firearms the amount of ammo you find in a gun when you pick one up depends on what graphical variation of the firearm type you pick up. For example:A 45 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver hold 6 bullets and a 45 caliber Glock will hold 10 bullets.
27.Maybe enemies could have two pain sprites when getting punched in the front like in Final Fight which might add more feeling to the way enemies die.
28.Here's a new explosive weapon i've thought of. A grenade bag. It's a bag of grenades that you throw and when it lands a bunch of grenades pop out.
29.Some weapons(the shotguns and handguns to keep you from relaying too much on firearms) could disappear after a certain amount of time like in Vendetta. You'll know if a weapon will disappear after some time because a timer will appear.
30.The beta version of Streets of Rage 1 had some enemies that didn't make the final version. Might be nice to see them again.

31.Maybe the punching and grappling(when enemies hit the ground) sounds could be adjustable to the players liking. For example:Changing the SOR1, 2, or 3 punch sound to Final Fight 2(I liked the punching sound in Final Fight 2) or the sound made when enemies are thrown to the ground from the SNES game Batman Returns(I loved the sound in that game).
32.Maybe Jack from SOR2 could hand knives to the Galsa's when there available.
33.Instead of putting a save system maybe the game could have multiple chapters. The first takes place in Portland, Oregon. I thought it would be best to start there since that game mentions the city being peaceful(Oregon has a low crime rate). Eventually you'll find your self in cities like Huston-Texas, Detroit-Michigan, Cleveland-Ohio, New Orleans-Louisiana, and finally the District of Columbia. I avoided cities like New York and California since they are used too much in crime movies.
34.If Ash ends up being a playable character I thought of a new move he could have. It allows him to rape enemies on the ground(men only) for a little more heath. The trade off is that the move is slow which would leave you a sitting duck toward enemies and to balance things out Ash would gain half as much health from most health pick ups. Yeah. It's stupid, but I thought it's innovative.
35.Maybe there could be an underwater level where your in 10 feet water and have to keep an oxygen meter up. You do this by getting to areas of the screen that are high enough to jump to the surface.
36.A new weapon could be a chainsaw. Whenever you hit an enemy with it the chainsaw strike the enemy latching on to it draining his or her health until you let go of the attack button or he or she dies. When you let go of the attack button the enemy is knocked down. The Big Bens and bikers sometimes will use this. When they do the only way to knock it out of their hand is to use either a special attack or hit them from
behind which can easily be after they do a charge attack(the charge attack they do with the chainsaw only allows them to move forward).
37:A new weapon:A molotov. Note that if you throw a molotov at an enemy he or she will be knocked to the ground and roll up, down, or in a circle trying to put it out. If that enemy trying to put the fire out collides with another enemy that enemy will take damage and trip.
38.The ability to strangle SOR 2 and 3 Electra, BK 3 Electra, and Nora with their own whips. You can also do this with their whips on other enemies if your using one.
39.Two new weapons could be a shoe blade and some ice cleats. When equipped, the player will preform his or her own kicking combo. The shoe blade and the ice cleats could be used by Soozie and Garnet.
40.I thought of a new boss. He's basically a high level hitman named Bourne(reference to the Bourne Identity movies). He wears a sleeveless vest and a fedora hat and has a mustache. He attacks using a variety of gadgets and gizmos. His first attack is a grappling hook which he can use diagonally. He uses this when your distracted with other enemies. In close range he can stun the player with choking powder. He also has a punch combo is his a aided by a push knife(basically a brass knuckle with a blade attached to it) on his left hand and a Sedgley OSS .38 punch gun on his right hand which he uses to finish the combo. Although he can be grappled and thrown, punching him while grappled causes him to turn the player around
and choking the player using a garrote wire.
41.A new series of weapon types could consit of moveable weapons which can be used while moving. The consist of the Sai, Nunchaku, two Kama's, and two butterfly swords. The Sai's and Nunchaku's are used by Haku-Oh, while the Kama's and butterfly swords are used by Tiger and Hakuyo.
42:Some shotguns will come with an attached bayonet which the player can press the jump button to stab an enemy and fire the gun while he's stabbed causing triple damage.
43.Firearms can be fired while moving which will make hitting enemies much easier(I sometimes have trouble hitting enemies with firearms).
44.Add a double barrel shotgun which fires two separate shots, but can be reloaded 3 times and while moving.

An interesting idea. SOR1 Blaze has been used as an enemy in a Syndicate Story, but that's because the Twins from SOR1 were palette swaps of Blaze.

Aside from the enemies in the original games (including the Master System and Game Gear ones) that are missing in the Remake, like Break or the midget top-hat rocketeer guy and npc versions of the playable characters, I would add new playable characters.
Mostly existing bosses and regular enemies, kinda like in the Syndicate Wars romhack for SOR2, but with full movesets. Characters with different versions depending on the game could be accessed like the SOR1/2/3 versions of i.e Axel, so for instance you'd have Jet2/Jet3/Rocket in the same character slot, just with different attributes corresponding to their npc version.
Because honestly, who wouldn't want to have some revenge on the game by playing as Jet or Abadede? Or BECOME THE BOSS as everyone's favorite punching bag Gar/lsia?

Yeah, I love Elle's jump kick, just because it's the same animation as her enemy version (and also the sound is great, almost as good as connecting Ash's 3 star attack or any of Max's special grabs).
To be fair, that reminds me - another thing I'd add is more "expanded" alternate movesets for the enemies the enemies the non-hero characters are based off of. Like, you could set in SORRMaker wheter i.e an Electra uses the regular enemy moveset, or alternatively has a "boss" version that uses the more expanded version that is used by playable Elle. I think that's what made Abadede so tough in SOR2 and the Remake despite not being that gimmicky compared to bosses like Jet - he just has a nearly complete moveset (only missing additional jump attacks I think).
Yeah, I know what mod you're talking about. TBH one of the biggest WTF moments I've had while playing a mod. Awesome at the same time, though.

2 biggest things are really online play and for me an option to turn off enemies eating food/picking up items. SOR2 they couldn't do that, so you could save turkeys and stuff and have cleaner play throughs.

As much as I love the game, it's hard to get people to play in person. And even online, it's hard to find people, although from this website I bet a lot of people will gladly play and keep the game going for awhile. This is a game that you can play every once in awhile especially in 2p mode. But as a single player it isn't quite as fun.
I think most of us are older, so we don't really even have the same gamer buddies as before. People drift away over time. I miss a few of my best gamer buddies from the past, wish they were still around and we were still playing things. I used to look forward to playing games in the evenings/nights so much, and on the weekends too. This would be great in a rotation if I could get that going again lol.

1) Online p2p for all modes that have local multiplayer.
2) More playable characters. Most wanted are Zamza and Y.Signal. (Preferable to leave this one to the pros that made the game though. I've played a decent amount of SoR hacks adding characters that just weren't fun because the characters made the game stupid easy or the opposite.)
3) A color picker tool for the sprite editor so I don't have to match colors by eye or write down the unique RGB mix to remember.

5) Give Mr. X unlimited police specials, change Mr. X's police special to make him laugh.
2) More playable characters. Most wanted are Zamza and Y.Signal. (Preferable to leave this one to the pros that made the game though. I've played a decent amount of SoR hacks adding characters that just weren't fun because the characters made the game stupid easy or the opposite.)
3) A color picker tool for the sprite editor so I don't have to match colors by eye or write down the unique RGB mix to remember.

Playable Abadede would have been nice too. He already has a pretty complete moveset (he only needs 2 new flying attacks and a hold-C move, he would probably just jump like Max.

I actually think his "grab" gimmick due to him being too big would be flipping the opponent around. The AI seems to do that - he grabs you from the front but then does the suplex thats supposed to be his back grab. No idea how it works but incorporating the AI's tricks and what they do into the playable version would be neat.
Also, if his offensive special would be his anti-air uppercut, it should be really powerful as a single hit, have some unique crunchy-sounding sound effect and on top of that it should rip enemies in half if they get killed by it, like when they die due to explosions.

You don't need to ask for the source code. It can be hacked and has been. However, this game falls into this gray area where no one is really sure if they should release the source code or even what the legal implications could be. However, with OpenBR out there the only merit I think this game has is it's engine. Either way the game was never built with a mod community in mind and if that was going to happen it was killed by all the scammers passing off the game as their own. Just something to think about. I apologize if this is a bit off topic just wanted to mention that.

Here are some of my own suggestions:
-A shotgun weapon similar to the Cadillacs & Dinosaurs' shotgun. There isn't any short range gun option available and it's another good way to keep enemies bunched up.
-Ammunition pickups for the gun weapons, again similar to Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. Or at least more ammunition for the handgun.
-A optional button input to pick up items from the floor (or a button combination similar to pulling off back attacks). I can't count how many times my combos got interrupted because I picked up a piece of gum or a coin off the floor.
-Restore rolling back to v5.0/v5.0a. I can understand why they were nerfed, but now there isn't any viable reason to use them in combat. You're completely exposed after the first few initial frames and the distance you travel isn't that much farther than just walking down, only except you can react faster during the walking phase.
-Improve Axel 3's pipe/plank swing back to SoR3 speed, since his SoRR swing has a noticeable wind-up that hampers his weapon ability.
-As Don Vecta said, enemy versions of the playable characters for modding purposes, as well as SoR Game Gear and Mobile enemies like the rocketeer dude and Harikiri.
-A difficulty mode higher than Mania, to drive everyone nuts.
I don't doubt that SoRR has been cracked open at this point, but out of respect for BoMbErLiNk, I think he should have the final say on whether or not such a thing should be released to the public, considering he was the project leader and the primary visionary for the SoRR project.

From what I know, there was already a shotgun almost ready and would be included, but never made it into the light.

Yeah, I guess there's just respect to the creator to the game to give the green light or not. But I certainly believe the source should be kept. Maybe other elements could be used for modding, though.

Extra button functions isn't a bad idea...after all the user could choose which ones to play with. (and I bet there's plenty who don't use X for blitzes, Y for combo ender or Z for back attack)
What's needed far more though is an option to disable the B+C combo for back attacks. I've lost count of the number of lives dropped because of the game doing back attacks instead of a fast jump/fly-kick combo. (and I don't even need B+C for back attacks, that's what I use Z for)

I think that expanded input options would work well for this game, including enabling/disabling button combinations and custom button inputs. I would imagine it'd be hell to program into the game though.

That makes me curious. This is the first I've heard of this. I could probably understand why it got the veto though, since the dev team probably wanted guns to be exclusively long-ranged.

Completely change the palette locations so modifying them would be MUCH easier, such as in the case of SOR3 Blaze.
Add characters and enemies from other games, such as Final Fight, Rushing Beat, Double Dragon, Street Fighter, etc.
Add new movesets to enemies to make them much more fearsome. I mean, they already did it with a few enemies, one example being Garnet's flurry of slaps. (Correct me if I'm wrong)
Add a super bar, which when full would grant a very powerful combo, just like in Street Fighter games.
Having the ability to completely remove characters from SorMaker mods. If this was a thing and I made SorMaker mods, not a single one would have Blaze or Shiva as playable characters just to piss people off.
