The most surprising thing is that they seemingly are endorsing games modifications with it.

The SEGA Mega Drive Classics Hub will be launching on Steam April 28th as a free update & there's no need to purchase games you already own on Steam to use it!

The new-look system is based on a bedroom of an early nineties SEGA fan with dynamic time-of-day conditions, retro SEGA paraphernalia, a shelf full of MEGA Drive games (including the ones you own) and of course a CRT TV! That’s not all, every single MEGA Drive game will now feature Steam Workshop support allowing you share modified versions of your favourite retro SEGA titles!

In addition to these new features, the new SEGA Mega Drive Hub also includes:
- Spot-on emulation
- Local co-op for games that support it
- Optional graphic enhancement filters
- The ability to save at any point in the gameplay
- Full controller / keyboard support

It will for me, eventually. There are a few games I want to try out on the PS4, but they aren't really killer apps and want me going "OMG I NEED THIS NOW!" 2017 so far is filled with at least three killer apps on the PS4 (FFVIIR, FFXII Remaster, and Shenmue III). So unless FFXV, No Man's Sky, or both turn out to be incredibly awesome, I can't see myself purchasing one until then.

I know that FFVIIR, Shenmue III, and No Man's Sky are all set to be released on PC, but I think all of them are releasing on PS4 first for awhile, and I can't wait past day one for FFVIIR lol.

the series died after 10-2 I thought. In Fact I would go as far as saying 13 series was better than 12. 12 had a laundry list of problems and bad design choices with it.

Well looking at what happened with FFX & X-2 HD Remaster, you'll probably see FFXII end up on PC a few years later!

Nope, FFXII was a good and underrated defibrillator that brought it back to life momentarily. FFXIII is what finally flatlined it.

XIII just came across as flashy with no real substance. XII had XIII beat in lots of game mechanics.

XIII had more substance to it then XII, better gameplay mechanics story and music too. Plus it did not have the most annoying character ever in a RPG Vaan.
