I guess the time when a new up and coming video streaming site would rise to prominence when the idiots of Google keep fucking up badly favoring big companies and fucking up the viewers.

Fuck them, there will always be new options afterwards.

In regards to the other day's news regarding YouTube, a bit of clarity:

Videos won't suddenly be vanishing or anything like that, but channels not in tune with YT's program moving forward simply won't be able to monetize said videos. Which means pretty much nothing changes for all of your anime openings or video games OSTs or what have you.

The big change here will be for actual labels with channels on YT and what it means for their revenue. We can set the doomsday clock back. It still sucks for a certain crowd, but it's not the massive world-ending move that some outlets made it out to be.

I'll admit, the only thing I saw him in was TGB&U, but he was absolutely amazing in that film. Sad to hear that he just passed. 98 years is pretty good though.

Went to turn on my PS3. It turned on like normal with the blue and green lights, and then it turned back to red, started blinking and all the light went off. Had to turn the switch off in the back off and on and it still didn't come on. Unplugged it and then plugged it back in and it turned on.

Is this the beginning of the end guys?

Hmm not sure what's the meaning of this but you'd be wise to copy all your saves to a USB drive as soon as possible.
And if you can, do a complete backup of your PS3 hardrive to an external drive.
I regularly do that myself.

back up everything, sell it while it still works and buy a new one with a bigger hdd. aka pull a badjab  

How fucking feeble are these damn consoles. Man, I can't believe I'm currently playing Vice City Stories with my old fat PS2 and just like new!

Thats the thing too, I don't even play it much and its about to crap out on me. It's kinda sad how quick these new consoles go out.

Hell, even my PSone still works, I tested my Final Fantasy Tactics last night and works wonders!

Guess I'll stick with retro-gaming, emulation and PC gaming. I might buy a PS3 later on since I still have lots of games worth replaying, but I must accept I've lost savestates, DLC's and whatnot.  

You haven't lost DLC and the things you bought, it's attached to your PSN account which can be activated on another PS3 system.

Definitely the big problem of the last consoles is that they tend to overheat, thankfully the PS3 doesn't as much as the Xbox360 but once this kind of problem happens or when you hear the fans, a dust cleaning is in order, that's for sure.

If only these pieces of shit were cheap like disposable toilet paper to keep changing, I wouldn't mind. The issue is that these cost quite a sum!

Lol, well said. I still have a NES and Genesis that work great, and that Genesis has taken a bigger beating than any of my other consoles.

Anyways, I think I might've caught a lucky break. I do remember that the last time I was using the PS3 I was on the youtube channel and fell asleep on it, leaving it on all night. That app loves to heat my PS3 up. My PS3 hasn't booted itself off yet, so I am hoping that it just overheated on me because of that.

But I'm not hoping for the best, as I haven't had the best of luck with Sony consoles. I had a launch PS2, bet you guys know what ended up happening with that one. Bought another PS2 in 2002 that crapped out on me about a couple years ago too. I even had problems with my PSX starting on day one. So the YLOD is imminent.

Best tip I can give ANY Ps3 owner?

Stick rubber feet under it (identical to below). I'm dead serious. I stuck 4 1 inch rubber feet under them I ripped from an old VCR. Keeps the console MUCH cooler.

That's an inexpensive and very practical idea Criss, think I'll do that.

I've been trying to not say anything negative about Youtube this week, but I can't hold it anymore.

I know that there are a few other people that have been getting this same problem, but has anyone else here had an issue with trying to play videos on Youtube this past week? I keep getting this annoying "An error occurred. Please try again later." message as soon as I load up the page. This is fucking driving me nuts.
