Hmm, can we really consider Haggar that new to the SF universe? Not to mention why so much hassle to hide him.
They really make it sound as if it was a completely new character. But hey, we're talking about Capcom after all

Well, he hasn't been in a SF game before I don't think.

DAMNIT does the double helix forum have to be slammed so fucking hard everyday?! can't even get a post in, anyway Chief Thunder was teased at the end of Glacius's reveal trailer
Double Helix sure know how to keep that controversy going eh? I'm willing to bet we'll get a trailer at Comic Con which is less than a week away. Evo was pretty awesome, I'm definitely making better efforts to attend from here on out.

The next Super Smash Bros. won't have a story mode this time because the cutscenes were uploaded to youtube
Nintendo may as well cancel the game then since it will be pirated.
Jesus, these guys are becoming as bad as Sega is nowadays.

Nintendo, do me a favor and stop being a bunch of pussies, please!
EDIT: No, seriously, WTF is happening with the gaming companies in this age?
They also revealed a anti indie Japanese developer stance yesterday. Indie Japanese developers are currently not allowed to submit development applications for the WiiU.

And there goes a lot of support on the Japanese side of gaming development.
Seriously do they want to fail or something?

I don't have high hopes for the next game considering how close to perfect MK9 was. All they need to do is fix the netcode and add a few more stages, costumes and maybe 1 or 2 more MK4 characters to really perfect it. But the fact that we're going to lose a chunk of the roster, and most if not all of the stages by default means I probably won't be interested in MK10 unless it's done in the style of Shaolin Monks.
In other news...
Usually I'm all for bonus mp, but there's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to start.

Re: Games: News & Releases
I beat DuckTales Remastered a couple days ago.
Let me be honest with you all about this one this game is....
This was a wonderful remake, homage, and love letter to the fans of the original game on the NES. Everything from the gameplay, levels, art, and even music got a lot of love in this game. It even improves on some of the things that I criticized in the original.
I gotta start with the music. Jake Kaufman does it again and knocked it out of the ballpark with this soundtrack. Now, its not as good as his Double Dragon: Neon OST was (that was something special), but its still a wonderful soundtrack and faithfully recreates the songs from the original games and even improves on some of the really mediocre songs from the original like the Amazon (this remix is amazing) and the Boss theme.
I was hit with some major nostalgia when I first heard the Select Stage remix in this game. Not only was it a great remix of probably the worst song in the original game, but it took me back to a time when I was little and playing this game for the first time and brought back so many good memories. I knew I was going to be in for a ride with this game after hearing it.
Some of this original compositions are great as well, such as
I was really skeptical about his Moon remix as I usually get letdown whenever I get a little hyped on anything. But I gotta say, I was shocked by how GREAT his fuckin take on the song was in the game, I was absolutely blown away and wasn't letdown by it whatsoever.
This isn't just a port with just fancier graphics and nothing else like SMB All-Stars, it feels like a new game altogether, almost kinda like REmake was. A lot of the levels still have the same areas within them, but there are now added areas or some of the levels have made some changes altogether, but not enough to make it feel like a completely new level which is nice.
The boss battles in this game are awesome. The boss battles in this game are more complex and the bosses have more patterns and surprises for anyone who has played the original before and because of it, the bosses all feel completely fresh and new. I want to mention that Magica is an incredible boss fight in this game and I recommend everyone avoiding gameplay videos of it on youtube and experience it for yourself. It really is that good.
The game fixed my biggest complaint about the first game. And that is... *SPOILERS*
Now there are a couple issues I do have with the game. The controls sometimes are not responsive (such as using the Pogo stick and it doesn't come out when you know you pressed the buttons correctly). Some people have been having some freezing issues with their copies. There are quite too many cutscenes for this game as well. Now thankfully, you can skip them when you pause the game, but it does kinda kill the flow of the game a bit. Now I do like the cutscenes and I always wondered how the story went in the original NES game (and it even made me care at the end), but there was a little too much inside some levels. But not a game-killer by any means.
On a personal note, I was disappointed with the African Mines stage. This was one of my favorite stages in the original game because of how open-ended/non-linear the stage was and also how you have to travel to another stage to find a certain key to unlock a passage. This game does away with all of that unfortunately. The key is now located in the stage itself and the game makes me feel like I am walking on a somewhat straight path down to the boss. And I HATE the boss' voice, he sounded NOTHING how I thought he would and it totally ruined the character for me. And this is one of Kaufman's remixes that I really didn't care for much in the game and that's a shame since I liked the original's song a lot. So yeah, the level kinda blew for me.
But with that said, this game is excellent and I recommend anyone who was fans of the original try this out and anyone who never played the original check it out as well. It's my favorite game this year by far.
Pros:
- Nice refreshing gameplay
- EXCELLENT music
- Awesome art
- Cool new level designs
- Awesome thing I mentioned in one of the spoiler boxes
- Awesome boss fights, especially Magica.
- The Moon doesn't disappoint.
- Excellent use of characters in both gameplay and cutscenes.
- They brought back the entire cast from the original series except for a few who have passed away since. Voice acting is pretty good overall.
Cons:
- African Mines is a real disappointment.
- Mandatory tutorial level is kinda annoying for those who played the original.
- Unfortunately, Alan Young shows his age here and can't quite pull off his Scrooge voice as well anymore. As well as some others.
- Too many cutscenes.
- Controls are not responsive at time.
- Some glitches here and there.
I give it about a 8 or 8.5/10. Very good game.
After this and DD Neon, I think Wayforward is becoming one of my favorite developers on the market. I look forward to see what they are going to do next.

Re: Games: News & Releases
Not sure if you heard about all the features of the new Batcave, but that in itself has re-hyped me quite a bit for Arkham Origins.
GamesTM wrote:
"Hanging like blackened teeth from the roof of the cave's mouth, the sea of bats angrily disperses as the Batwing roars through the interior waterfall of Batman's clandestine headquarters. The Batcave is a much larger expanse than the miniature proxy installed beneath Arkham Asylum in the first game. Iconic vehicles stand like trophies on raised platforms, his wardrobe emerges from the thick metallic walkways - enabling player's to switch bonus costumes between missions - and every inch drips with canny references placed for the eagle-eyed - which, aside from a glimpse of a newspaper cutting of the Red Hood spotted in Gotham, proves GamesTM certainly is not. But it also serves as a practical base for Batman to upgrade equipment and polish abilities. The most notable addition being Challenge Maps, a separate feature of previous entries, now accessible from the Batcave."

It's no sequel to Arkham City, but I'll settle for free-roam in Gotham, Knightfall related challenge maps, access to the Batcave and some form of co-op.iceweb38 wrote:So you guys have stopped being pessimistic about Arkham Origins?

Re: Games: News & Releases
Wow, using The Batcave as a central hub is a great idea. The timeline sounds a bit odd, is the game not supposed to be based in Batman's first year as The Dark Knight? I read at the time setting of the game he is just becoming known to the major villains, yet Jason Todd is already dead, come back as The Red Hood and Dick Grayson is Robin? Do the mean The Red Hood as in Joker's previous persona?
