Steam Remote Play
I don't suppose anyone has been able to get SorR to work over Steam's new Remote Play feature? It's not supposed to support non-Steam games, but there's a guide on the Steam forums (which I can't link because I'm a new member, but it's easy to Google), which explains a way around that. I've managed to get RetroArch working perfectly over it and played some Streets of Rage 2 with a friend last night, without problems, but I wasn't able to get SorR to work.
From what I can tell, the main problem is that it won't run if the exe file is renamed to something else, and to make this work you have to rename it to the filename of the game you're replacing, in this case StreetsOfRogue.exe. I tried keeping copies of the file with both names and it didn't help. Then I tried using a symbolic link called StreetsOfRogue.exe to point to SorR.exe and, although that ran when I launched it from the folder, Steam refused to load it. Any ideas?

Today I did a quick test with my friend and he has confirmed that SorR works over Steam Remote Play. What you have to do is to rename not only the SorR.exe but also SorR.dat to the name of the game you're launching on steam (in my case it was Sonic Mania so I renamed both files to SonicMania.exe and SonicMania.dat respectively). And, of course you need to have steam_api.dll and steam_appid.txt in the same folder for Steam Remote to work. Haven't tried playing it yet, but I think it's just a matter of setting up the controls at this point. Hope this was helpful, let me know if it works for you.
[Update]
Just finished a full run of the game with my friend. At first SorR wasn't recognizing input from my joystick when launched through steam, I fixed it by applying a preset in Steam Settings > Controller > Desktop configuration.
Another issue was that my friend had no sound from steam remote stream, to fix this I had to share my system sound through a skype call. Aside from that it was a smooth playthrough.

Aha, that's awesome, thanks! I never would've thought to rename the dll file.

Re: Steam Remote Play
I have a problem getting this to work... SSoR launches and i have the option to remote play. I send invite to my friend the game boots but gets the error "Could not connect to remote user" right after. I used steam game SEGA Mega Drive & Genesis Classics for setup.

Re: Steam Remote Play
That seems to happen a lot with Remote Play, with any game, not just SorR. That's just Steam for you Sometimes it just won't connect at all and you just have to give up and try again later. Remote Play's still fairly new, so hopefully they will fix it soon.

Re: Steam Remote Play
I used parsec and it worked fine. Just made sure my buddy had a DInput controller. However, this game has issues on windows 10. I get a lot of stuttering and frame rate skipping. But on Windows 7 none of this happens.
