Ok so this interview with Sega of Europe COO
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/08/23/sega-amplitude-pc-publisher/
Doubt it's anything SOR related but something related to Shenmue might be announced soon.

RPS: You have a lot of IPs, of course, some of which we haven’t seen for a long time.
Post: We have different initiatives around the older Sega IPs. The Megadrive Collection is one of those, for the people who want to play retro games. But then we have games like Shenmue, which was pretty much at the top of every list of titles that people wanted to see revived. We have more though and we’re constantly looking at them.
We have some great IPs coming out next year and we’ll have announcements toward the end of this year about some of those. New versions of old games.
Doubt it's anything SOR related but something related to Shenmue might be announced soon.

Most likely won't be Shining Force or SOR for sure. Hope we will get a Shenmue HD announcement soon. That will actually get me to buy a Sega product for the first time since 2010.

Yakuza 6 coming in the West on Early 2018
Gives me plenty of time to invest in that series!

Re: Games: News & Releases
They said the new Crash thing would be a remaster... I don't think they know what that means, those aren't remasters, those are remakes. I'm hyped about it now sure but it would have been nice if they were clearer on it ._.

It's a rumor for now, but that is concerning if true. On a related note:
Digital Foundry wrote:Clock-speeds are a crucial piece of information required to get some idea of Switch's capabilities beyond the physical make-up of the Tegra processor. As many have speculated, the new Nintendo hardware does indeed feature two performance configurations - and the console is categorically not as capable in mobile form, compared to its prowess when docked and attached to an HDTV. And we can confirm that there is no second GPU or additional hardware in the dock itself regardless of the intriguing patents that Nintendo has filed suggesting that there might be. With battery life and power throughput no longer an issue, the docked Switch simply allows the GPU to run much faster. And to put it simply, there is a night and day difference here.
Where Switch remains consistent is in CPU power - the cores run at 1020MHz regardless of whether the machine is docked or undocked. This ensures that running game logic won't be compromised while gaming on the go: the game simulation itself will remain entirely consistent. The machine's embedded memory controller runs at 1600MHz while docked (on par with a standard Tegra X1), but the default power mode undocked sees this drop to 1331MHz. However, developers can opt to retain full memory bandwidth in their titles should they choose to do so.
As things stand, CPU clocks are halved compared to the standard Tegra X1, but it's the GPU aspect of the equation that will prove more controversial. Even while docked, Switch doesn't run at Tegra X1's full potential. Clock-speeds are locked here at 768MHz, considerably lower than the 1GHz found in Shield Android TV, but the big surprise from our perspective was the extent to which Nintendo has down-clocked the GPU to hit its thermal and battery life targets. That's not a typo: it really is 307.2MHz - meaning that in portable mode, Switch runs at exactly 40 per cent of the clock-speed of the fully docked device. And yes, the table below does indeed confirm that developers can choose to hobble Switch performance when plugged in to match the handheld profile should they so choose.
It's a rumor for now, but that is concerning if true. On a related note:

Re: Games: News & Releases
So this is a thing. I'm a bit torn on this one, on one hand I totally understand continuing the NES trilogy given the legacy of it and really to be honest DD has had WAY too many remakes with different art styles and while the arcade game and advance has a more refined style I don't think those styles aged well but on the other hand I think they could've instead just made a new style altogether. This is arc systems we're talking about so HD sprites aren't out of the question for them, maybe they were just looking to do something quick for the anniversary? Eh I just hope it plays well, I'm glad we have a sequel instead of a remake ultimately.

Yeah, like I mentioned in another topic, I'm feeling pretty mixed about it. I was hoping for more of a continuation of Double Dragon Advance gameplay-wise. I'm still not really understanding the NES style when it was originally an Arcade game.

Re: Games: News & Releases
seems like there's more that fondly remember the NES game than the arcade game, some didn't even know about the arcade version oddly enough. I'm not a huge fan either but I understand it's a starting point and a smart decision given for whatever reason the 8-Bit style is in as far as revivals and retroactive games go. I would've preferred a Sonic Mania approach myself, or at least more fluidity like RCR Underground. Then again maybe they wanted to get something out quick as well, game will be in our hands within a month which is insane. Either way I think they'd win me over more with some sort of collectible faux cartridge and box but eh at 8-10 bucks I think it's worth having a look at.Saven wrote:Yeah, like I mentioned in another topic, I'm feeling pretty mixed about it. Something that really needed to be said about modern day gaming journalism. The same journalists are currently bitching about this video on twitter right now lmao.

Re: Games: News & Releases
Best vote ever? The wallet. A game is shit? don't buy it. Test it in the mall, in the game shop, download the demo and see what's up. Then see some serious reviewers like Angry Joe and see what they have to say knowing what do they play and what do they like. And if that gives you enough judgment, then vote with your wallet.
I bought Tekken 7 as a die hard fan of the series, but in all fairness, I think Tekken 7 is by far the worst game of the series. Playability is good, Story mode (only the Mishima bloodline one, that is) is godlike (like an interactive movie), that's the core of the GAME, but visuals, music, customizations, new characters and the whole package feels incomplete, dull, boring and lots its spark. Tekken was a game of ambient and environments created by the whole package, and this game failed top deliver.
Now,I know Tekken players who have the same feel with me and probably they'd rate the game pretty low... now see what the reviewers say about T7: GREAT, AMAZING, WONDERFUL, MASTERPIECE. Nah, no Tekken game has reached the masterpiece level in my eyes than Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection. No T6BR, no TTT2, and definitely NOT T7.
