New Members: Please Introduce Yourself Here!
Hey everyone! Some of you already know me from the other SORR forum, but if you don't, I'm Saven. I have been a lifelong fan of the Streets of Rage series for a long time, and I feel that SORR was a terrific remake and a great effort by Bombergames. I hope we can maintain the same great community as we did over on the Bombergames forum and keep the same amount of activity as we have over there as well.

Re: New Members: Please Introduce Yourself Here!
Hola, rjbetty here.
Just started posting a bit recently on the bombergames forum. Registered over 18 months ago. I'm a guy! 28, based in UK near London. rjbetty is based on my initials+nickname.
First played Streets of Rage at my friend's house in Wales in 1993 when it was on Mega Games II. It was so amazing I had to tell my younger brother and sister about it. Managed to lend Mega Games a few times and they got to see for themselves. Also, we discovered another classic called Golden Axe - you might know it. In only the last year or so I've come to appreciate how good Shinobi is too.
In the next 6/12 months or so, the same friend showed me another game he had got, the sequel to Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage 2!! I have to say that at the first time I played this was possibly the single most amazing experience I've ever had with a game. It had everything. It was far superior in every way to the original. The step forward in graphics was amazing. Now you were much more involved in the scenery. There were so much more enemies, some of them familiar, and they all had names and life bars. Far too many names to remember. There was that knife punk. The barman outside shouting "C'Mon!" when he rips his jacket off and you realise he's a martial artist. And it's raining! And the boss music! Then the bikers on the bridge.
This game was already almost too good to be true. Then it gets even better when everything goes quiet and Jet flies past the screen, then that brilliant music starts again. I only got to play for a while as my friend's mum was always concerned about time spent on the megadrive, so we got 30mins. But it was simply awesome. I had too much to tell my sister and brother when I got back. They just couldn't understand why I was so excited as they only had the first game as a reference.
They changed their mind when I got Streets of Rage 3 for Christmas in 1994. I had seen a preview in a magazine the same friend showed me, and saw this guy called Zan who looked so cool! Naturally I went him straight away. It was so exciting starting in a warehouse with these new enemies called Goldie, Zac and Soozie. I was starting to get concerned though because I was worried most of the previous enemies, Galsia and Donovan etc might not be in it and it would be ALL new enemies. So I was so excited to see Donovan and Garcia again. I'm one of the few who prefers the Garcia name for some reason. Really pleased to see the fatties outside in the dock and the bikers again, though really disappointed they wouldn't jump off and fight and their bikes didn't explode.
I was so excited to see who the first boss was. My brother and sister couldn't understand my excitement that "It's HIM! Mr X's Ninja bodyguard from the second game" as they still hadn't played it, and wouldn't for a long while yet. We always thought it was quite strange that the game ended after 5 rounds after Robot X (took a long time to try the game on Normal!)
I'm also one of the few who likes Axel's Yellow and Black design for SOR3, and prefer's SOR3 Shiva. Overall a very good game, but not a patch on the second one, which in my eyes had almost mythical status, possibly as I only very rarely got to play it. I don't think any game I've ever played can match my first few times playing Streets of Rage 2. Max was amazing and instantly became my all time favourite, with his incredibly powerful moves taking massive amounts of energy off. Even now he's the only one I use when he's available.
Oh ok maybe I've overdone it giving my life story, but hey...
Also, it's kinda strange seeing the top guys all starting their post count again. Now everyone is on the same level and have to work their way up again.
