The standard sor is good, but it is also quite fun to turn on the infinite barrage cheats and slaughter the enemy.

if you select the downtown district approaching the Chinese restaurant, you would be able to find an (Uzi) in one of the barrels at the start of the level. the scene before the Donovan throws Molotov's at you. I'm not sure where other Uzis are stashed in the game. probably a secret.

The Prologue seems to be the earliest point in 5.2. The second part of Dilapidated Town has pistols.
