Getting V4 to work on Windows7

So guys, i know that V4 is really old but i want to try to a couple sprite mods, so does anyone still have V4 working on 7+ Windows OS? All that's needed to fix it is a 611 KB file patch but the links are broken.

Thanks a lot man, though i also had to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable to make it run.

What strikes me as odd is that the police car is more detailed in V4 and the character portraits are made from scratch instead of re-using the BK/SoR3 ones.

Oh this is cool, nice one for finding a fix. I used to play V4 a fair bit and had working files which I swear all of a sudden broke, even a copy stored on ExHDD. I'll take a look when I'm home. Playing music on a local radio show atm.

Well, that's a bit shit. As soon as the screen faded entering the bar area, the game closed.

V4 was released 10 years ago, not sure what you are expecting with an old beta working on an OS that was released 2 years later.

If you'd read the previous posts in this topic, you'd know why I bothered with it.
But maybe I should explain: Curiosity.

What OS are you using? It works fine on my Win7 Pc. The only issue I have had with V4 is a known glitch of 2 players where the screen gets stuck after you defeat a boss.

I'm on 10. Guess it isn't compatible. Assumed it might be, because of how similar they are. Oh well. I have the V4 mod in V5 anyway.

Same thing happens to me. I'm on Win 10 as well. Once I get into the bar area, the game crashes. It also affects my "native resolution" on the PC while it's running. The stderr.txt file says: Libreria data\electra no encontrada, although there's an "electra.fpg" file in the data folder. I ran it from the Vista&later patch executable.

Same for me, the screen becomes black. I tried other levels with the level selection, half of them are the same.

I changed the extension of the electra file and the bar area now loads for me.
I figured out that the issue comes from the .fpg extension, V4 doesn't handle FPG stuff in my opinion, so if it crashes on your side it will drop a stderr.txt with a tiny Spanish sentence saying which file caused the crash. A couple Stage 6 levels had the .fpg extension, I had to rename them as well to change the extension to a simple file
