Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
I can try and see if I can rip them from the ISO itself. I have been doing this for some PS1 games, hope this one won't be much trouble.

Thanks buds! :3
Something quite funny happened.
I did what Don Vecta said first and recorded it with the pitch slighty higher and among other things I noticed the Frequency (Hz) was at 48000. I changed it to 44100 just in case and when I tried it in SoRMaker the music sounded high pitched lol. Went back and re-recorded it with normal pitch, 44100 Hz aaand seems that did it, the pitch was okay in SoRMaker .w.
@iceweb38 If you manage to rip the music it'd be great! .w.b It'll be useful for the cutscenes songs since I'd have to record em with voice acting included otherwise :S

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
OK bad news, even though I can access the files, I simply cannot read, just unbelievable considering XA files are supposed to be the readable ones, there's probably something wrong with the format.
I can however record the stages music, cutscenes however will have the SFX. Want me to do it?

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
Seems you got the same luck as me *scratch head* danged XA files!
I'd be really thankful if you decide to record the stages BGM~
I think I'll keep the cutcenes silent with just sound effects like Sor 3

I wonder I can ask CajNatalie about her SOR1 remake mod. I just to add something extra that's based on SOR1 beta... just like Sonic 3 (and Knuckles lock-on) =P Just thinking...

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
I have a title and theme for a mod and ready to go.
I've read all the available guides and watched 'the' Youtube video on how to place enemies and manage scenes.
But I'm having trouble adding backgrounds, what to name them as, resize to etc.. and add/change in SOR Maker itself. I've tried making 'new' fpg files in FPG Edit 2009 and exporting images and naming them to stage1a.fpg etc... but when I load SOR maker it's just a blank, black background where the scenes are.
Please help and thanks!

Have you? Really? Read this and this AGAIN.
SORMAKER wrote:But I'm having trouble adding backgrounds, what to name them as, resize to etc.. and add/change in SOR Maker itself.
Wait, are you trying to resize and edit your backgrounds INSIDE SORmaker? No no no, you must design your stage in any graphic editor, call it MS Paint, Photoshop, GIMP, etc. YOU CAN'T EDIT IMAGES INSIDE SORMAKER. SORmaker is only to manage and place your layers in your scene, that's all.
SORMAKER wrote:...but when I load SOR maker it's just a blank, black background where the scenes are.
1) Are you using the tabs of your layers at the top of SORmaker?
2) If so, are you using the arrows in the lower part of SORmaker's menu of the layer in question to make it appear in the screen?
If you're having problems how to use the commands, read this AGAIN.
Making a mod is not easy, you must read the tutorials, practice, experiment and use everything, like scrolling the scene by dragging your mouse pointer and whatnot.

Ripping levels with smaller height than recommended pixel height?
I have a question, I'm currently trying to make a new mod based on Alien Storm and in both the Arcade and the Mega Drive version the level pixel height is smaller than the recommended height. The tutorials state the levels have to be at least 320 x 240 so I have two options, either;
a) The easy route, keep the levels as they are in their original form despite having an area that's all black and empty.
b) Recreate all the levels to match the recommended height of 240 pixels by adding new bottom or top half areas to the level, this route will take longer.
I wouldn't just go stretching the levels, doing that would distort the look of the levels and I don't want to do that so it's one of those two options.

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
I'd always recommend the 2nd option.
It's pretty easy, you either copy paste more ground for the characters to walk on or you show more backgroud by adding on the top.
Not really a big issue. Next time use the Ask questions topic on this forum please

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
Did I mention that we don't like when people opens threads to ask questions when there's a QUESTIONS THREAD already? I'm trying to keep it nice, next time I won't be nice. Last warning.
As for the question, I always use the second choice. Distorting the natural aspect ration and pixel positioning looks awful (and I learned it the hard way with my first mod H.U.N.T.E.R., so... yeah, it takes more effort in recreate the whole 240 fill with extended floor, foregrounds or upper areas, but the places look real good.

I always do the second option. It doesn't look distorted and it gives the players a lot more room to walk around in, which is always a plus.

Custom music - does anyone have a list of which .ogg file relates to which level?
Hi everyone, first post here so I hope this is in the right place..! Apologies if not.
So here goes, I'm simply looking to replace the existing SORR soundtrack with custom tracks, by replacing each .ogg with another one. I have no technical issues doing this, I've replaced many tracks and it's all working fine.
My problem is this is a process of trial and error to find out which number .ogg relates to which level. At the moment I'm playing through the game, noting which number track is used for various levels, and compiling a list. I suspect there's an easier way though... and perhaps someone else has already undertaken this exercise? If anyone has a full list of which .ogg corresponds to which level, it would be hugely appreciated.
On the other hand if this doesn't exist, I'd be very happy to share my list (might take a while to finish it though!)
Thanks

Very New; need help with SOR Maker
Hey guys. I have no idea how to use SOR Maker so please bare with me.
I downloaded this Final Rage CD Time Attack version and, not only do I not know how to display enemies defeated, I would like to extend the time beyond 1:40 seconds. I found the item that puts a countdown but I don't know how to edit the amount of time. Any help? Thanks in advance.

The maximum time is 1:40. It can be edited by right click in the bomb icon when placed in the map.

Thanks. That's a real bummer that it cannot go beyond 1:40 seconds. It's really fun to do a time attack mode! At least I know how to edit it for other parts though. I appreciate it.

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
Hello.
I've tried to download some mods from this forum, but it seems I am installing them incorrectly, because I've been unable to play any of them.
After decompressing the mod directory into the sorr\mod\games directory, the mod does show up in SoR Maker. So I select it, find a “press start button” prompt, then select a character, then find a “press start button” prompt again, select a character again, and so on, ad infinitum. This has happened with Rudra's story, HUNTER Mod, and V4 Remake.
What's happening and how do I prevent it?

another way could be download a MOD, say Rudra's Story unzip then you should see the folder double click the folder to see another one of the same name inside of it, cut and paste that inner one to the SORR V5.1\mod\games directory.Fibonacci wrote:Hello.

That's exactly what I did. Does that mean that mods do not work at all in this game?

Re: Ask Questions and Share Tips Here
You just need to have all the mods files... infinite start loop means you have an empty folder or embedded folder.
Nothing else.
Nothing else.
