Undercover Cops
Time to show off the newt project I started working on recently:
Not as big as my first project, this is a translation of the arcade game Undercover Cops made by the team behind the Metal Slug series to the SORmaker engine. That was teased back in 2012 in my first mod extra stage pack.
All stages are in (including both versions of the stage 2-1).
3 soundtracks will be available: Arcade Jap (by default), arcade world and SNES.
Should be finished by 2016 if I don't slack off too much ^^'

That's the plan. Here's what I have left to do:
* Stage 5 airship ennemy placement
* item placement for every stage
* cutscenes
* playthrough testing
Now let us see if I'll be lazy enough to miss the 2016 release target

This time this is a straight port of the game, not a tribute one.
That said, those Gunforce 2 graphics are nice, let's see if I can use them somewhere else

why hello there everyone !
It's been years indeed which is unbelievable now that I look at it.
Anyway, yeah I believe I did a great injustice not only to people that were genuinely awaiting me but to me as well as I sure spent a lot of time working on it back in 2016 and had to come up with some creativity to recreate some stages from Undercover Cops into SORmaker.
So yeah, what happened?
Progress was going very good but felt lazier and lazier by the end of 2016, what if my professionnal life that was (and still is) mentally demanding, the tons of games movies and series to catch up with.
By november 2016, when I posted the trailer, I was probably at 80% of completion.
Then met a big obstacle with the latest part of the game which I was never able to recreate faithfully.
For those that wonder which is it, take a look at this (start at 24:38) :
I spent a lot of time trying to recreate these clones breaking their containers but nothing I did gave a good result.
Then 2017 came with its pack of anxiety attacks, preparations for Japan trip and so much personnal stuff that literally distracted me from going back to it.
And I never just found the inspiration to ever give a try again at it, so yeah
Do not worry though, I'm doing alright.
Should I have asked for help back then?
Surely but I was too stubborn to do so and tried to find solutions myself.
Then during the lockdowns and latest years, I always thought I should at least publish it here but always tended to forget afterwards.
But today, waking up, I just remembered to do it so I took the time needed to pack everything.
In this pack, you'll find the mod in its latest state (I'd say 90% of completion)

What is missing for it to be 100% complete:
- fully functional stage 5f
- fully functional stage 5g

Despite the unfinished state, I'm still proud of all the work I've done on it.

Those were stages I actually worked on for Saven back when he was also working on his own mod.

I love this mod so much that I even tried to recreate it. But I was not able to recreate the locations so cool.

I want to say that I am very happy to play this game. I really hoped and believed for many years, and now I do not believe my eyes. All in all, incredible work. I think there are a couple of things that will further improve this mod. I need to think and solve 2 questions. I want to improve the plane scene. There is a moment where the background covers the legs of the fighters. And it seems to me that you can improve the moment when you approach the door and a fighter will fit on it a little. Good news. The mod is just incredible. Finally managed to talk to my friend SERRR. He improved the mod to 100%. Now the game generally looks brilliant. Thank you very much Serrr.
This is mod for 5.1 and 5.2.
