Went to a convention today and actually saw a Creepypasta Sonic cosplayer!

(And I bought a Super Sonic plush, never seen one before!)

It's been over 13 years since the first demo of Sonic Retro was released, and nearly 10 since XG's 1st demo was released (I did have some engine tests sent to me by the creator earlier though). So it'll be great to see the finished game released at last! Smile

It also uses Sonic Worlds (XG originally used it, but was then transferred to the Retro Engine, now in Sega's hands). I can only dream of making something that good with it though Smile

It was yesterday the 20th anniversary of Sonic 3 & Knuckles (or rather Sonic & Knuckles) and to celebrate, Stealth and Taxman have released a nicely documented article about the game as well as a work in progress S3&K remake that has yet to be approved by SEGA:

The awesome Sonic After the sequel fangame got an article on both Redbull and Wikipedia websites:
http://www.redbull.com/us/en/games/stories/1331640498401/the-fan-made-sonic-trilogy-you-have-to-play

The developer's been interviewed as well and there's something really interesting to note in there:

Perhaps it’s because of the original soundtrack, or simply because Sega wisely doesn’t wish to upset its most passionate fans, but Daneluz’s Sonic games have not received legal attention from the publisher. Plenty of fan ‘remakes’ of games have been squashed under the weight of cease and desist orders in the past and Nintendo particularly is notoriously litigious – late last year it shut down a version of the 1985 Super Mario Bros you could play in a web browser. But Daneluz has never had any contact with Sega – though Sonic 3’s composer did send an email to one of the musicians on the project.

“The company has total right to simply shoot down any fan game because they may look at it as a business loss from people experiencing and playing their IPs, their assets, without the company having anything tangible to gain from,” Daneluz says. “However, shooting down fan games is a huge risk that can have a great negative impact on their own franchises, in the case that their fan base gets angry at the company. That's probably the reason why Sega deals with fan games the way it does now.”

Oh the irony.

The best part about SATS OST is that it's almost all new and fresh.
I may have resentment towards how SEGA is spoiling the Sonic community but the guy behind this fangame and Before the Sequel really deserves all the praise. One of the few people that is actually humble and not vitriolic in the Sonic community.

And this has already became the newest Sonic meme, such hilariously bad sounds Razz

I'm still very curious about this game though, the videos show something fresh for a Sonic game.

Woooooh, this is Sonic 2006 all over again, Rise of Lyric is getting universally panned, no wonder with all the bugs I see reported. Major bullocks because it actually felt like a fresh Sonic gaming experience.
Although I don't get why the 3DS game is getting as much bad reviews, I tried the demo and it was decent from what I played.

Let's see now how SEGA will handle since they decided to merely focus on Sonic, Aliens and Football Manager Rolling Eyes

Generations and from what I heard even lost worlds had a good structure to build on. Sega just loves sabotaging itself, I mean it's bad enough they let Bayo 2 slip from their hands (sorta) eh the show is entertaining for me at least.

They ditched Bayonetta 2 in favor of Alien Colonial Marines, which as we all know, ended up one of the biggest failures ever. (though it achieved a millions saleswise).
And I say they earned it.

So Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystals is surprisingly getting a sequel: Sonic Boom Fire & Ice.

It's already looking better than SC which was kinda alright on its own (plus Richard Jacques is still producing the music which is cool!). Now hoping it's going to end up being a more polished and balanced game.

It looks like a prototype version of SegaSonic, with Mighty and Ray.
